Nighttime is when pumpkins do their growing, most expand two inches in circumference every night. If it’s a dry season, give each plant 15 to 20 gallons of water twice a week. Water in the evening, and water only the base of the plant to keep the leaves dry, which reduces the risk of disease. See the best Pumpkin Wallpapers HD collection. Festivals and Events
Throughout the year, Mortimer Farms holds unique festivals and events. The Pumpkin Fest & Corn Maze is what made the farm famous! This festival continues and is held each fall. Craft vendors, food vendors, farm-inspired rides, hayrides, corn mazes, pumpkin picking, barn dances, exclusive shows, and music are just a few of the items that guests will enjoy during the fall!
In the beginning, the farm's sole event was the Pumpkin Fest & Corn Maze. We spent the fall watching children pick out their perfect pumpkin, watching families connect while finding their way out of the corn maze, watching loved ones find their inner child, and watching families open their hearts to farming. We soon decided to hold additional festivals and events throughout the year to give families additional opportunities to experience farming. These events can be found under Festivals and Events at the top of this page. On non-festival/event weekends, the farm's gates are open to Pick n' Play.
